Trek to the lost city of the Incas in search of the fabled ruins of Machu Picchu

Overview

The legendary Inca city of Machu Picchu is nestled up in the Peruvian Andes, hidden away and surrounded by mountains on all sides. Our 6-day trek will see you cross the Andes in search of the lost city, departing from the bustling colonial mountain-town of Cusco and winding your way through breath-taking mountain passes, past sacred mountains and through humid jungle trails to reach the fabled ruins of Machu Picchu.

Trip Highlights

  • Be able to say you visited one of the modern wonders of the world

  • Join a team of other students, local guides, porters and cooks who help you accomplish this amazing feat

  • See stunning mountain views, relax in mountain-side hot springs and explore the bustling city of Cusco

  • Extend your trip with a 5-day vacation to the desert oasis of Huacachina where you'll have the chance to go dunebuggying, sandboarding and even wine tasting tours.

Fun Facts:

  • The Salkantay Route was voted one of the best 25 trekking routes in the world

  • Machu Picchu was introduced into American culture after a professor from Yale University came upon the ruins himself back in 1911

  • There is a lot of mystery surrounding these ruins and It is not exactly known why the Incas abandoned the site

  • You will receive a unique stamp in your passport upon checking into the entrance of Machu Picchu

Where does the money I fundraise go?
50% Goes towards the cost of your trip (flights, accommodation, food, transportation, etc)
50% Goes directly to Pencils of Promise, who create schools and education programs in in Laos, Ghana, and Guatemala

What do I do if I have any fundraising questions?
Your Charity Representative pictured above should be your go-to person for all fundraising related questions. For example, "Need ideas for your next fundraiser? or "Advice on how to kick off your fundraising campaign?" Email your charity representative and they should be able to help you out.
