We are currently looking to recruit 2 In-Country Operatives (ICO’s) to oversee teams of students in Cusco, Peru and Kathmandu, Nepal before and after their trek.

The ICO’s will be expected to remain in-country for the following dates:
Peru: May 13th, 2019 - June 13th, 2019
Nepal: May 14th, 2019 - June 12th, 2019

You’ll also be expected to attend training at our Brooklyn office.

The responsibilities of an ICO will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting groups to and from the airport in-country and helping out with any visa or luggage-related issues.

  • Being on-hand to answer questions such as on nearby banks and pharmacies and will escort participants in need of assistance.

  • Being available if a participant needs to come back from a challenge early and assist in making doctors appointments or visiting the hospital when required.

  • Adhering to, and facilitating, the Choose a Challenge incident response plan in response to any incidents or emergencies.

  • Keeping participants informed of their itinerary details.

  • Taking photographs of each group before they depart on their trek and when they return, and send them to the Choose a Challenge team.

Choose a Challenge certifies that we will: Provide suitable training to your prior to your departure, provide support to you throughout your stay via messenger app and telephone, cover the cost of accommodation and all international flights, provide you with a daily stipend, cover the cost of essential items; for example a local mobile phone and SIM card, and more.
