Past trekker Megan Chan stopped by our offices recently and shared her thoughts about her experience with Choose A Challenge this year.
This blog post was inspired by the emotions I felt as I overcame challenges in my summit attempt of Mount Kilimanjaro. On summit night in particular, there were moments during which I considered the possibility of turning back before I reached Uhuru Peak but both the motivation I received from within and from my hiking family were what got me to the top.

Leading up to your eventual trek you will likely pour over a myriad of equipment check lists, each with their own suggestions of what to bring to be adequately prepared for the 6 or so days you will spend hiking on Kili. However, even the most detailed lists can miss things or fail to emphasize the impact of particular items. These are the things I personally found to be particularly helpful or wish I had brought on my trip.
