"(F)all together now..."
Autumn is in full effect and so is our team's fundraising efforts
The foliage has arrived, most apples & pumpkins have already been picked, and our student trekkers celebrate the mid-point of their fall semesters. With all this change in the air, We here at Choose a Challenge are turning over a new leaf as well (had to fulfill my pun quota for the month✅ ). After wrapping up our recruitment road trip, our student teams have begun to conduct their first meetings together and have even started organizing fundraising events. They're doing everything from donut drives, paint night events, and even pizza delivery fundraisers to help get them one step closer to going on their respective trips. We even have some students who are close to reaching their FULL FUNDRAISING TARGETS! 😁
While fundraising is a major part of each team's success, another equally as important aspect is team bonding. Team-away days are some of the best ways prior Choose a Challenge teams have all gotten to know each other, and what better way to jumpstart that process than with a fall foliage hike?
In this month's newsletter, we've compiled five of our favorite hikes in the northeast to go on before the winter months arrive.

Already on a Choose a Challenge team? Get your team together and visit either one of these recommended hiking spots or find one of your own to go on. Winter will be here before you know it so enjoy the Autumn weather while it lasts!
As the highest peak in the Metacomet Range, Mt. Tom provides the best views of the surrounding wildlife refuges, National Forests and the Connecticut River.
Choose your trail. The park offers over 500 miles of beautiful forest to hike and explore and, being so far south, the vibrant colors tend to last longer than the spots farther north.
This relatively long and steep hike eventually rewards hikers with one of the prettiest vistas in the state, with mountain views to the north, south, and west and lake views to the east. The trail follows a section of the famous Appalachian Trail.
Breakneck Ridge is one of the most popular hiking spots in NY. With trails of varying length and difficulty, you can easily switch your autumn-time day hike into a weekend campout.
Hike the Mattabesett Trail for some of the best views of the Quinnipiac Valley you’ll find in all of central Connecticut
